Project Controls Coordinator

Position Purpose

The Project Controls Coordinator is responsible for monitoring project cost and schedule performance, ensuring alignment between contractual deliverables and financial reporting. The role supports project governance by validating payment applications, tracking project financial obligations, and ensuring compliance with contractual and risk management requirements.

Role Description

  • Monitor project cost and schedule performance to ensure alignment with approved budgets and timelines.
  • Review and validate applications for payment to ensure they reflect actual progress and contractual deliverables.
  • Provide accurate financial data to support payment applications and ensure costs are correctly allocated.
  • Track and manage contractual bonds, ensuring validity, compliance, and timely renewals.
  • Monitor project insurance coverage, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure insurance policies are maintained, renewed, and properly accounted for.
  • Support the tracking and administration of legal documentation including contracts, variations, claims, and notices.
  • Ensure all contract changes and variations are properly documented and supported with required evidence.
  • Act as a coordination point between project teams and stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met without delays.
  • Support project reporting, documentation tracking, and communication processes.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of cost control, scheduling, and financial tracking within projects.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, bonds, insurance, and project compliance processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and support decision-making through accurate reporting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, or professional services environments is preferred.
