Senior Procurement & Commercial Manager

Position Purpose

The Senior Procurement & Commercial Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s procurement and commercial functions by developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring procurement governance. The role supports business growth by delivering value through strategic procurement, contract management, supplier performance, and commercial excellence while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Role Description

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including planning, market analysis, tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contract award, and supplier onboarding.
  • Commercial Management: Lead commercial negotiations, review contractual terms, manage contract lifecycles, and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build strategic supplier partnerships, monitor supplier performance, conduct business reviews, and drive supplier innovation.
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, governance requirements, ethical standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage supplier, commercial, contractual, and supply chain risks while implementing effective mitigation plans.
  • Category Management: Develop procurement strategies across key spend categories to maximize value, optimize costs, and improve service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal departments, clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to provide commercial guidance throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the Procurement & Commercial team while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance & Reporting: Monitor procurement performance through KPIs, dashboards, spend analysis, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing metrics to support informed decision-making.

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of procurement, commercial, and contract management principles.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and procurement governance.
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and procurement compliance.
  • Knowledge of ERP and eProcurement systems.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS, CPPM, CICCM, or an MBA are preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in procurement and commercial management, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience within Facilities Management, Asset Management, or Property Services is preferred.
  • Experience managing high-value procurement projects, strategic sourcing initiatives, and complex contract negotiations.
